CONCLUSION

Ultimately, HBCUs must view religious diversity as a resource that should be cultivated and embraced to the benefit of the campus community. The first step to a religiously diverse and inclusive student body is a thorough assessment of the campus religious climate. The next step is a strategic plan based on the results of campus assessments. Ongoing assessment must occur to ensure that the goals of the strategic plan are met. HBCUs face a sociological imperative to address the needs of religious minority students.
